State/EPA Site Identification

The North Dakota Hazardous Waste Management Rules require regulated generators of hazardous waste to have a site identification number. Conditionally exempt generators of hazardous waste are exempt from this requirement.

Generators may not offer their hazardous waste to transporters who have not received an identification number and a transporters permit. Neither may a generator offer their hazardous waste to treatment, storage or disposal facilities that have not received an identification number and applied for a permit.

North Dakota uses the federal notification form for RCRA subtitle C (hazardous waste) activity.
