North Dakota
Water Quality Monitoring Council
The ND WQMC
Beginning
An initial meeting in December 2009 brought together representatives of NGOs and State and Ferderal Agencies to discuss the merits of forming a water monitoring council.
From that discussion the ND Water Monitoring Council was formed and website initiated. Additionally, development of a conference began. The first conference was held in February 2012.
Mission
We promote and facilitate collaboration for effective collection, analysis, and sharing of water quality data.
Vision
Provide the information necessary for the effective management, protection, and improvement of water quality in North Dakota.
Next Steps
Working groups will be formed as issues with North Dakota's surface waters arise. Through Coordination, Communication, and Collaboration the council aims to provide the information necessary for the effective management, protection, and improvement of water quality in North Dakota.
